Life Raft Debate – Waubonsee Sugar Grove

Waubonsee is hosting their sixth annual life raft debate on 10/15 from 6-8 p.m. in the Auditorium on the Sugar Grove campus.

This year’s panel will be Todd Laufenberg – Human Rights Studies, Jessie Miller – Sociology, Jordan Hasler – Mathematics, Tacarra Ford – English, Emily Heller – Kinesiology, and David Chase – Devil’s Advocate.

Event Details: Imagine a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity struggles to survive.

There is a life-raft ready to transport its passengers to a new world where they will help build a new civilization.

However, there is only one seat left on the raft and a group of college professors now has to vie individually for the remaining seat by arguing that their discipline is necessary to the founding of this new civilization.

Audience members will listen to the arguments and vote on which professor merits the remaining spot, but only after listening to the Devil’s Advocate who will argue that no one deserves the last remaining seat.
