Kevin Geary, a former member of the Sugar Grove Village Board passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Alabama.   He is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie, son Michael (Crystal), four grandchildren and two sisters.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.  Geary was known as a generous hearted and civic minded individual, serving tirelessly for causes that benefitted his community.

Geary became a resident of Sugar Grove in 1996, and was first elected to the Sugar Grove Village Board in 1999, serving for eighteen years through 2017.  In addition to his service on the Village Board, Kevin served for many years as a member and supporter of the Sugar Grove Chamber, the Sugar Grove Lions Club, the Inc. Board, NFP Board of Directors – a Community Mental Health Funding Alliance, and was an ardent supporter of the Sugar Grove Corn Boil.   He championed causes he believed in, freely sharing his ideas and energy.

On behalf of the Village of Sugar Grove President and Trustees, the Sugar Grove Chamber Board of Directors and Chamber members, the Sugar Grove Corn Boil committee and the residents of Sugar Grove, we want to express our heartfelt sympathy to his wife Laurie, family, friends and colleagues.

A “Kevin Geary Memorial Fund” has been set up and all proceeds will go to Laurie Geary. Donations should be made payable to “Kevin Geary Memorial Fund.”
