“The Warmth of the Seasons” Show, Sugar Grove Public Library

Local artists are invited to submit for the Fall Show at Gallery 125 located in the Sugar Grove Public Library. The topic of the show is “The Warmth of Seasons,” with a loose focus on fall, family, warmth, and the beauty of the changing earth. Art of all types may be shown including mixed media, sculpture, small pieces, oil, acrylic and photography. The public may purchase pieces directly from the artists, and contact information will be made available in the biography and contact book placed in the Library. The fall show will be in the Library November – January.

This showing will feature the work of local Kaneland and former Sugar Grove resident Deann Alleman, past-President of Yellow House Artists. A variety of her pieces will be highlighted in the Grand Foyer. Alleman utilizes oil pastels for a unique and rich appearance in her work, pieces which feature a variety of landscapes based off the local countryside and views. Alleman is a local favorite, showing in a variety of venues throughout the art community and collected by patrons.

The opening reception for the show is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1st beginning at 6:30 p.m. The new Passages Café will be opening on November 1st with a ribbon cutting ceremony in addition to reception remarks. The Library is partnering with the Chamber of Commerce for an after-hours event and ribbon cutting; wine, refreshments and acoustic music by local Fox Valley recording artist Eric Peter Schwartz. The public is cordially invited to visit the artists, enjoy the community atmosphere, meet local business leaders and taste the goods at Passages.
