Senator Linda Holmes will be celebrity judge for Culinary Champion competition to find the area’s BEST BBQ!

Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce a celebrity judge June 11 in Montgomery for the BEST BBQ competition.  Senator Linda Holmes is a professed “foodie” and will join host judge Village President Matt Brolley of Montgomery, Village President Jim Roderick of Hinckley and a representative from Aurora. The competition will be held at Montgomery Park on Thursday, June 11 starting at 5:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.  The concert in the park will be held afterwards.

All restaurants in Aurora, Batavia, Big Rock, Hinckley, Montgomery, North Aurora, Plano, Sandwich, Sugar Grove and Yorkville are invited to participate. The BBQ entered MUST be a regular menu item.

The Illinois Restaurant Association will officiate over the judging process and declare the winner. 

The next competition will be held at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Aurora to find the area’s best “VEGGIE/VEGAN dish that’s NOT a salad.  It will be Thursday July 16 starting at 6:00 pm. 

The CULINARY CHAMPIONS along with the 1st & 2nd runners up each month will be featured in a new travel itinerary that will be used to make the Aurora Area a culinary destination for the traveling public.
