The Ambassadors represent the Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce & Industry and provide an additional means of communication among Chamber Members, Staff, Board of Directors, and the Community.

Primary Objective

Official public relations representative with the objective of enhancing the positive image of the chamber.

Mission Statement

As Ambassadors of the Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce, we pledge to perform the following duties associated with this position:

  • Maintain a positive image of the Chamber
  • Actively mentor new Chamber Members by personally visiting their business, learning about their business, their reasons for joining the Chamber, and what they expect from their membership
  • Provide feedback from discussions with new members to the Board of Directors and Chamber Director in order to understand and meet member expectations
  • Encourage members to actively engage in networking activities, committee membership, and volunteering at various events to help them promote and grow their business
  • Provide support for new members, helping them become a part of the Chamber family through support and mentoring in order to gain confidence in their membership
  • Support the overall growth of the Chamber through providing personalized support and encouragement
  • Attend monthly meetings, ribbon cuttings, and new member receptions

Requirements

  • Good communication skills, be comfortable in initiation of open and honest dialog is a must
  • A genuine appreciation and understanding of the Chamber’s mission, vision, and core strategies
  • Ambassador’s company must be in good standing with the Chamber and the Ambassador should maintain professional conduct at all Chamber functions
  • Minimum of one year of membership required to become an Ambassador
  • Meet monthly – cannot miss more than 3 consecutive meetings without a valid excuse
  • One year commitment to be an Ambassador
  • Expect to spend 3-4 hours per month fulfilling expectations

Awards and Recognition

An ambassador of the year will be honored at the Chamber Annual Meeting with a plaque to display at their place of business.  We will also recognize an Ambassador for their volunteer efforts on a quarterly basis – announcing it at our monthly luncheon.

  • Throughout the year there will be friendly competition between the Ambassadors
  • Earn Stars/Points for performing specific tasks

Chamber Ambassadors Leadership Structure

Chair and Co-Chair both serve as liaisons to the Board of Directors – working with the board regarding the direction of the committee

Chair – Serve a one-year term

  • Presides over meetings
  • Coordinates meeting’s agenda
  • Identify ways the Chamber can improve services and offerings for a more valuable member experience

Co-Chair – Serve a one- year term

  • Takes and publishes notes for all meetings
  • Helps Coordinate meeting’s agenda items
