Castle Bank Hosts an Annual Fall Coloring Contest each year for the students of Kaneland John Shields Elementary School

Filming at the Library

The Quiet Reading Room of the Sugar Grove Library was recently used as a backdrop for a video shoot.  The footage involved the library fireplace setting, as a local stand in for a ski lodge, for an upcoming episode of Aspiring Women.

This show is a TLN Emmy winning production. The producer is a Kaneland Emmy nominated resident. The show is broadcast locally on Comcast.  A copy will be available at the library.

American Tree & Turf Receives 2009 Best of Sugar Grove Award

U.S. Commerce Association's Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

American Tree & Turf has been selected for the 2009 Best of Sugar Grove Award in the Lawn Services Category by the U.S. Chamber Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

SBA Stimulus Details

SBA is implementing two key provisions laid out in the Recovery Act.  They are temporarily eliminating certain loan fees and raising guarantees on some 7(a) loans up to 90 percent.  With these critical steps by SBA, and the Treasury Department's commitment of up to $15 billion aimed at getting lending markets flowing again, they want small business owners across this country to know how they are going to put much-needed capital in their hands.

Call the IL SBDC at Waubonsee at (630) 906-4143 for additional information.
